FURNITURE AND TABLE BASES
The Hularo® fibres are soil resistant, and the furniture is totally maintenance free. However, if you wish to clean the furniture, Cane-line a/s recommends the following procedure:
Clean with soap and water. Use a soft brush and rinse with cold water.
THE TABLE TOPS WITH HULARO® FIBRES
Usually the woven tops do not need any kind of maintenance.
Should cleaning, however, be necessary, see the above description.
THE TABLE TOPS WITH TEAK AND WOVEN HULARO® EDGES
The tabletop comes untreated. This means that the teak will acquire a silver grey patina if it is not treated prior to use and then at regular intervals as required. If the tabletop is treated with suitable teak oil, the wood will acquire a darker glow, which can be preserved by treating the wood with teak oil. The frequency of the applications will depend on the climate and whether the table is under cover, for example. As a rule of thumb, it is a good idea to oil the tabletop at least once a year.
If the teak tabletop turns silver grey or black, a suitable teak cleaner can be used. Once the table has been treated with teak cleaner and washed thoroughly with water, it should be allowed to dry. When it is completely dry, oil can be applied. If the tabletop has been left for a long time and acquired a patina, it may have to be rubbed down prior to cleaning.
The Easy tabletop is maintenance free, so it will only require general cleaning with a mild detergent. If you spill red wine or fruit juice on the tabletop, or if it is splashed with chlorinated water from a swimming pool, for example, it should be wiped immediately to prevent permanent staining.
Never use harsh cleaners, including bleach, to clean the tabletop, as they may damage the surface.
Take care not to knock or scratch the tabletop with hard, sharp or heavy objects – just as you would with a glass table, for example. Nor should you put hot items such as pots, pans or tea lights in metal holders directly on the surface. Once the tabletop has been marked or scratched/chipped, there is no immediate way of repairing it that will restore its original appearance. It is made from a composite material based on polyester and fibreglass.
When you put a parasol through the hole in the tabletop, always use a base to prevent the parasol from tipping over and possibly damaging the table. Always remove the parasol from the table in windy weather.
The mosaic tiles that the stone slab is made of are a special type of ceramic ware known as stoneware. It is similar to the familiar terracotta that plant pots are often made of, but is much harder and thereby more resistant to cracking.
The stoneware tiles are also resistant to dirt. If red wine should be spilled on them or greasy food falls on them this should be wiped up immediately to avoid permanent stains on the slab.
The table should be cleaned with clean warm water. A mild, natural solution of water and soap flakes can be used for this purpose from time to time. Do not use chemicals to clean the stone slab as this may damage the joints and the stone.
We recommend storing the stone slab in a garage, shed, or lean-to during the winter. During the winter the slab must not be stored in a place that is very warm and dry (close to an oil or gas furnace, for example).
Granite Table Tops are made from natural, polished granite. It is smooth and shiny. Small colour variations and depressions are a natural feature of this material.
Glass tops are made of 8mm toughened glass and can be used on top of the woven surfaces.
